Hi everybody, it's Kelly with Saunders County Online. Time to take a look at our daily news and again, special thanks to the Wahoo Newspaper, the Ashland Gazette and Waverly News for helping provide these headlines.
Rhonda Riecken of Ashland is tickled pink and blue. The number of grandchildren for Riecken will nearly double in the next four months as all four of her daughters are pregnant at the same time. Her daughters Morgan, Kendall, Charly and Serena are all expecting babies. And there's a great story about this you can follow along on the Ashland Gazette.
The Raymond Central Board of Education at its June 6, the meeting approved new activity admission fees for the raise a cost of entry to varsity events for adults that will go from $5 to $7. For students from $4 to $5. The price hikes are in response to recently agreed upon entrance fee increases at all of Nebraska Capital Conference sporting events. Superintendent Lynn Johnson said it would just make the most sense to have both conference and non-conference activities at the same price.
The Nebraska Department of Transportation that began its work this week on US 77 between Lincoln and Wahoo. Work includes replacement of existing pavement markings. Traffic will be maintained with mobile type lane closure operations, and they're anticipating the completion of this project in mid-August, so it shouldn't be too long. We hope.
The Saunders County Agricultural Society recently granted a request by the Saunders County Robotics to move the successful youth robotics program to the fairgrounds. The kids and their coaches have outgrown the space provided by Saunders County Medical Center in their Wahoo offices. The Ag Society agreed to allow the robotics team to use a commercial building for practice and storage of their equipment. They will wait however, until after the completion of the fair before they start moving in.
So there you go. That's the look at the headlines, brought to us by the Wahoo Newspaper, the Ashland Gazette and Waverly News on Saunders County Online.
