Ann with Three Rivers Public health came into Blair Studios today to speak on several projects they are working on this summer. First thing talked about is the mosquito and tick traps set up last week around Washington, Dodge and Saunders Counties. At this time the indication is that the mosquito population is much higher than normal for this time of year. Results of the first round of traps has not yet been received as they are testing for the West Nile virus. We also spoke about the heat of summer and risks of leaving children or pets in the car for any amount of time. With that conversation, Three Rivers Public Health will be at several events this summer performing car seat checks.
