Hi everybody, it's Kelly with SaundersCountyOnline.com. Time to take a look at our news headlines for today Friday the 24th of June.


The Saunders County Museum is holding its annual barbecue fundraiser today from four to seven o'clock at the museum in Wahoo. It is the 28th year. The event features pulled pork sandwiches meals for $12 boxed meals which are available for takeout with a limited amount of outdoor seating. Orders can be made ahead of time at SaundersCountyMuseum.org.


In Legion baseball action the Yutan Juniors will host Valparaiso tonight at 5:30 pm at Itan Park field, followed by a contest between the Yutan and Valparaiso Seniors at 8:00 pm.

The Wahoo Public Library will host a nationally known accordion player, children's polka musician tonight. Mike Schneider, also known as Uncle Mike will perform his Pint Size Polka program at 5:30 pm at the library.


After three months of discussion and a trip back to the planning commission, the Wahoo City Council passed an ordinance allowing ground floor residential apartments in certain areas of C1 downtown zoning district as a conditional use permit. The idea came from a request from Mike Sullivan of Lincolnshire Investments. Sullivan is a Wahoo native who is interested in developing projects in the community.


And don't forget the Wahoo city wide garage sales are going on now into this weekend. So again, get out there support local support, you know, all the businesses around us as well.
